Rating :  - Ok monitor with possible reliability problems
I had a bad experience with this monitor (and Viewsonic) recently; I received the VA1926w after RMA'ing a VA1912wb which had an area of dark pixels at the top of the screen. After a lengthy RMA process (two months, not terrible, I suppose, but certainly not good) I received the VA1926w, and as it happened, the monitor sat, unused, for several months. When I finally put the monitor into service, I was unimpressed with the quality; it seemed to have pronounced light bands at the top and bottom from the backlight. Color and contrast were good, however, so I was satisfied.
Unfortunately, on the second day of use, a vertical bar of blue pixels appeared, which remains whenever the monitor is powered on; as it so happens, my original warranty had just lapsed, leaving me with a badly defective, nearly brand-new unit, just after my warranty had expired. This isn't entirely Viewsonic's fault, but they certainly didn't go out of their way to help me out, either. The two bad units and poor-to-mediocre support has left a bad impression and I think I'll be avoiding Viewsonic in the future, even though it was once a brand I really trusted.
