Rating : - Average TNT Monitor This is one of the wave of sub-$200 1080p LCD monitors. Like all the others, it's a TN. Unlike most of them, it's a 23.6" display instead of 22". Not a huge difference, but I like the slightly larger screen.
I haven't noticed any ghosting, and I play a lot of first-person shooters, including several hundred hours of COD4 (after coming off an obviously ghosting-free CRT).
As with all TN monitors, the viewing angles are limited. I often watch movies from distances of less than 3 feet, and it becomes obvious -- but unlike older-generation displays, it remains watchable and usually isn't distracting. The backlighting isn't perfectly even but only becomes noticeable within large black areas on the screen edges, and again isn't distracting (at least for me). I have never noticed any of the viewing angle or backlighting issues while playing a game, surfing the web, or using software -- only while watching movies.
My display had no issues with dead pixels, and both the DVI and HDMI inputs work appropriately. Changing signal sources takes a second or two but I spend more time waiting for my PS3 or PC to wake up than for the monitor to display their output.
